Evacuation:

Your family may determine (under your family hurricane plan) that you might need to evacuate when a storm becomes a threat to your area. When implementing your Evacuation Plan, be sure to pack the following items in your Kit to take to the shelter:

• Important Papers
• All Medications
• Baby supplies if you have a baby or young child
• Arrangements for your pets
  • Be sure to take Shot records, rabies certificates and tags, and city licenses
  • Plan where your pet will go. Remember most shelters and hotels do not accept pets.

SECURE YOUR HOME.

• Make sure all loose items are secured or tied down
• Turn off electricity
• Turn off Gas
• Board up windows, if you live near the coast
• If your home is subject to flooding, put all furniture as high as possible, either up on blocks or, if you have a second story, on the second floor.
