HOUSTON, TX - The first day of Weather Camp™ will kick off with Weather Wonders on June 14, 2002. This is the session for 5 and 6 years olds. There also classes for children age 5-17 and a Meteorological Magic class for adults.

Some of the topics covered in Weather Camps include:

  • Hurricanes
  • Thunderstorms and Tornadoes
  • Weather safety
  • Searching the web for weather information

Weather Camp™ is an activity of The Weather Museum at Weather Research Center, a non-profit educational and research facility. The Weather Research Center staff has been hosting Weather Camp since 1993. The camp involves not only the campers but student interns, and volunteers from both High School and colleges. Each camp is taught by meteorologists, and each camp day is unique with each camper having an opportunity to explore their own questions and fears about weather.

Space is still available in all classes. You can find out more about camp by visiting http://www.weathercamp.org or by calling 713-529-3076.
