Purpose:
The Weather Research Center was established as a non-profit educational and research organization under the direction of Jill F. Hasling and Dr. John C. Freeman both Certified Consulting Meteorologists and fellows of the American Meteorological Society.  The Center provides education through its research and services in meteorology and oceanography.  These services include worldwide weather forecasting, environmental and climatological research, literature and data surveys, internships for meteorologists, and computer modeling.  Ms. Hasling and Dr. Freeman are dedicated to the advancement of the profession of meteorology and oceanography through education of the young professional by developing and offering summer internships and other educational training opportunities for students who have a distinct interest in the weather.  Through the Center's websites, newsletter and press releases tours and conferences, the staff is continuously striving to improve public awareness of the weather.
