The Nation’s First Weather Museum needs your help
…To inspire America’s next generation of scientists and engineers

How can America maintain its competitive advantage when students today are not choosing science, math and engineering careers in the same numbers as their parents?

As the nation’s first Weather Museum, located in the premier Houston Museum District, we are doing our part to inspire America’s next generation of scientists and engineers by providing meteorologist-led guided tours of the museum for school children of all ages. Since opening our doors in April 2006, we have given tours to over 6,200 students! Regional school districts tell us that having their students tour the museum is very beneficial to peaking the students’ interest in math and science. Everyone talks about the weather!

URGENT NEED: Many of these regional schools want to bring 100 to 125 students at one time to the museum, which exceeds our current capacity. To meet this pent-up demand, Weather Research Center urgently needs to remodel the current facility as well as build an annex behind the museum. The purchase of adjacent property will also be required in order to complete this project and provide enough parking for the museum.

BE PART OF THE SOLUTION: Weather Research Center’s goal is to raise $1.5 million and move forward with this important project as quickly as possible.
